UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - People were lined up as early as 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon outside the Oneida County Health Clinic on Elizabeth Street, all hoping to get a dose of the H1N1 vaccination.

The clinic ran from 4:30 - 7 p.m. At 406 Elizabeth Street, and was open to adults 19-24 years old, those 25-64 years old with underlying medical conditions, and parents and caregivers of infants under six months of age.

The Oneida County Department of Health said that more than 1,000 vaccines were available before they begun.

A third clinic for Oneida County is scheduled for children only (6 months to 18 years of age), particularly those at 'high risk' with underlying medical conditions at the Oneida County Office Building, 800 Park Avenue in Utica. That clinic will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Oneida County has also announced that the Health Department has established an H1N1 Flu "hotline" to provide Oneida County residents with up-to-date information on scheduled immunization clinics and the H1N1 influenza.

Callers can access the information by dialing 798-3600 anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. County Health officials said the hotline was set up in response to the heavy volume of calls and inquiries to the health clinic and other Health Department web site at www.ocgov.net
