Police: woman made up robbery story

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica woman is facing charges for allegedly lying to police. Authorities claim she made up a story about being robbed at gun point.

Police say Rebekah Perez, 24, of Utica created the story to cover up a $10,000 cash larceny. According to police, she even gave cops details about the incident, saying an unknown man burst into a home on Warren Street, grabbed her throat, then held a gun to her head.

She's charged with felony grand larceny and falsely reporting an incident.
