LaBella: "Significant" amount stolen from credit union, robber on the loose

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police are on the look-out for a robber after he stole money from the District Telephone Employees Federal Credit Union on Genesee Street.

The robbery happened at about 3:00 p.m. Friday at 2812 Genesee Street, and police say there were employees inside the credit union.

Utica Police Chief Dan Labella said that a "significant" amount of money was stolen.

The robber is suspected to be a black male, 5'5" tall, according to the Criminal Investigation Division. Police conducted a search of the area but nobody could be located. It was initially reported that the man was headed north, but it was unclear whether he was on foot or in a car.
