CATO, N.Y. (AP) - An elderly motorist is facing a second-degree murder charge after he repeatedly rammed his car into another
vehicle, setting off a deadly chain-reaction crash in Cayuga County.

The wreck happened a little after 6:30 p.m. Friday in the village of Cato.

Police say 79-year-old William Levea, of Fulton, began ramming his car into a truck driving in front of him on Route 370.

The other motorist, Christopher Spack, lost control and slammed into an oncoming truck.

Spack died in the crash. He was 41. The occupants of the other vehicle weren't badly hurt.

Levea is also charged with driving while intoxicated. He was being held without bail.

Police wouldn't immediately speculate on Levea's motive.
