Oneida County H1N1 student vaccinations begin today

By WKTV News

REMSEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - Oneida County health officials are headed to Remsen today, to start vaccinating the county's students against H1N1.

The County Executive says he wants to vaccinate all 37,000 students in the county's 19 school districts. It's a plan that is going to take time and patience.

Health officials estimate it will take about 47 school days to get every student vaccinated. Local school superintendents say they saw one big wave of absenteeism from the flu in October and they are now bracing for a second.

The other school districts that are going to be visited next are Adirondack, Camden and Holland Patent.
