Two more Oneida County deaths possibly linked to H1N1
ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - The deaths of one adult and one child are possibly being linked to the H1N1 flu virus, known as the Swine Flu.
The Oneida County Department of Health is reporting the two deaths but not releasing the names as typical protocol. The adult did have a very serious underlying condition. They also had the Swine Flu when they died but their attending physician did not attribute their death to it. Oneida County Health Department spokesperson Ken Fanelli says the other fatality is a child who lives in Oneida County, but died out of state. This case is being called "suspect" because, while type a influenza was confirmed, right now, nearly all type a cases prove to be H1N1. These recent deaths would bring Oneida County's death toll from H1N1-related deaths up to seven. The health department urges parents to take advantage of the immunization clinics in their children's schools. |
