Woman charged with DWI after crashing car

REMSEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Remsen woman is lucky to be alive, after police say she crashed her car while drunk.

According to Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies, Sandra Behr, 39, was heading along Route 365 in Remsen around 5:00 Thursday morning when her car went off the road and slammed into a tree.

It took rescue crews more than 40 minutes to get her out of the car. She was rushed to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with severe injuries to her legs.

She's now been charged with DWI and is due back in court at a later date.
