Dudley Avenue victim identified as level-three sex offender

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The victim of a shooting on Dudley Avenue has now been identified as a level-three sex offender.

According to the Associated Press, 66-year-old George Garrow is listed on the state's criminal justice website as a registered sex offender who was convicted in 1988 of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy.

Neighbors say Garrow had one leg, used a motorized wheelchair to get around and was often seen driving a tractor to collect scrap metal he would sell for cash.

Utica Police say they were called to the home at 1139 Dudley Avenue around midnight on Wednesday and that's when they say they found Garrow dead of a gunshot wound.
