(WKTV) - A winter storm warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening for the Southern Adirondacks, Lake George, Northern Saratoga region and Southern Vermont.

Snow will mix some sleet and light freezing rain Wednesday afternoon before changing to light rain in the valleys locations under 1,000 feet.

The mixed precipitation will taper to scattered rain and snow showers by sunset.

Total snowfall accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected for the Southern Adirondacks, Lake George, Northern Saratoga Region, and Southern Vermont.

In excess of a foot of snow is possible over
the high peaks of the Southern Green Mountains.

Ice accretion of up to one tenth of an inch will be possible.

A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible.

This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
