Local competition to award $200,000 in prizes for local businesses

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Businesses in the 12-County Central Upstate New York region have the chance to apply for $200,000 in prize money.

The "Emerging Business Competition" was announced Tuesday at Herkimer County Community College.

There are three categories, Emerging Business, Innovations in Agribusiness and Student Business Idea.

The competition was created to help boost job creation and business development.

For eligibility purposes of this competition, a small business is considered any business that brings in less than $5 million in revenue per year.

Applications are due January 22nd at 5 p.m.
