Reporter Evan White leaving NEWSChannel 2

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Reporter Evan White announced that he will leave NEWSChannel 2 Thursday after roughly three years at the station.

Evan will be moving on to the ABC affiliate in Rochester, 13WHAM News.

Evan, a native of Boston, came to NEWSChannel 2 in December of 2006. In his tenure at WKTV, Evan has filed numerous reports for our local newscasts as well as filling in at the sports desk on occasion.

Evan was born in Boston and raised in Holliston, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston where he received his Bachelors degree in broadcast journalism.

Evan's colleagues and friends know he is an avid sports fan. Being a Boston-native, Evan roots for the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Bruins and the New England Patriots. In fact, Evan was also NEWSChannel 2's NFL Blogger as he provided his thoughts and analysis in Evan's Extra Point.

Evan credits his parents, friends and teachers for the support that led him to WKTV and now beyond to another television station.

Evan's colleagues wish him all the best in his new job in a new city and thank him for his work here in Utica.
