NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. (WKTV) - She's the reigning U.S. and World Luge champion, and has a bronze medal under her belt at the World Cup series in Norway.

Now, Remsen's Erin Hamlin has another reason to smile - making a guest appearance with Team USA on The Today Show

It was quite a day for Erin Hamlin and the entire U.S. Luge Team. They arrived to the Today Show right around 9 a.m. Friday morning, where they were sent into hair and makeup, and given the VIP treatment.

Around 9:25 a.m., the team was brought out to the 30 Rock Concourse area familiar to regular Today Show viewers where they made a short appearance promoting the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

Outside on The Plaza, the team was surrounded by familiar faces of support - Hamlin's parents, residents of her native Remsen, and signs that read "Team U.S.A." and "Olympic Luge"

After the Today Show segment, the U.S. Luge Team remained on the Plaza signing autographs for fans before gearing up for another full day ahead.

Thursday night, the team was busy at several events for their sponsors. They continue that course Friday night with more sponsor events, as well as some visits to New York City schools to speak to students.

Hamlin said she will remain in New York City Friday night with her family before further preparation for the Olympics.
