Farmers' Museum holds 30th annual Candlelight Evening

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Farmers' Museum held their 30th annual Candlelight Evening Sunday afternoon.

Each year, the grounds of the museum are transformed into a holiday-like atmosphere, decorated in greenery and thousands of candles. Visitors were able to enjoy a ride through the grounds in wagons pulled by draft horses with harness bells.

Warm wassail was served throughout the event. Wassail is a hot, spiced punch often associated with Christmas. The beverage was warmed in kettles over open fires.

Of course, Santa Claus made an appearnce. Also, the members of the Christ Episcopal Church presented a live nativity.

An array of musical performances took place at the Cornwallville Church including Catskill Chamber Singers, the Catskill Choral Society Girls' choir, and the Northern Comforts Men's Quartet. The Cooperstown Central School band also performed Sunday.

The Farmers' Museum provides vistors with an opportuntiy to experience 19th century rural and village life.
