Victim's name of Geno's Tavern homicide released

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - One person has died after he was shot at Geno's Tavern at 202 James Street around 10:40 Saturday night.

Upon arrival, police located a male that was bleeding. He has been identified as 27 year old Umar Khadafy Abdur Rahman of Utica. He was treated on scene by the Utica Fire Department and transported to to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The shooting is still under investigation

Police are asking anyone that may have been in the area of 202 James St. around the time of the incident to call the Utica Police Criminal Investigation Division at 315-223-3510; calls can be kept confidential.
