Home Depot to lay off 1,000 workers nationwide; New Hartford not affected

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (AP/WKTV) - Home Depot is cutting 1,000 jobs but it will not have any effect here in Central New York.

A company spokesperson says the New Hartford store won't see any layoffs. This comes as a result of cuts to three pilot programs and support positions because of sale declines.

The CEO of the Atlanta-based company sent a memo to staffers detailing the layoffs and specific store closings.

The cuts are less than one percent of the company's more than 300,000 workers.
