Parts for faulty Toyota gas pedals on the way

By WKTV News

WASHINGTON (AP) - Repair of a gas pedal problem is still a way off for Toyota owners. Toyota told dealers today that they should get parts to fix sticky gas pedals later this week.

But the 4.2 million customers affected by a large recall will have to wait until technicians are trained before repairs can begin.

President and COO of Toyota Motor Sales Jim Lentz spoke exclusively on NBC's TODAY Show Monday morning about the faulty pedals. He said if you own a Toyota and notice the accelerator pedal is slow to return or is beginning to stick to contact your local Toyota dealer as soon as possible.

Lentz said owners of cars affected by this recall will be receiving a letter from the company, notifying you to contact your dealer so you can set up an appointment to take care of the issue.

According to Toyota's website, the following vehicles have been recalled:

2005-2010 Avalon
2009-2010 RAV4
2007-2010 Camry
2008-2010 Sequoia
2009-2010 Corolla
2005-2010 Tacoma
2008-2010 Highlander
2007-2010 Tundra
2009-2010 Matrix
2009-2010 VENZA
2004-2009 Prius
