Traffic stop and foot pursuit leads to drug charges for Utica teen
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A traffic stop and foot pursuit by Utica Police of one Utica teen for drug possession charges. According to Utica Police, an officer tried to stop a motor vehicle in the 1200 block of Mohawk Street around 7:45 p.m. On Thursday, February 4, after the officer observed the car making several vehicle and traffic infractions. Once the car was pulled over, police said the driver - Brandon Wynn, 17, of Utica - who was the only occupant of the car - fled the area on foot. A short foot pursuit began and the fleeing driver was quickly apprehended. Once in custody, police said Wynn was found to be in a large quantity of crack cocaine. Wynn now faces charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with several vehicle and traffic violations. |
