UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Proctor High School graduate is getting some new bling for one of his fingers - in the form of a Super Bowl ring.

The New Orleans Saints upset the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl on Sunday, and lots of Proctor Raider fans were watching the Saint defense very carefully - including Proctor head football coach Jerry Fiorini.

Fiorini was an Assistant Coach back when Smith was dominating the grid iron in Utica. He said Smith is a shining example of what Utica has to offer.

"Will made a great, positive impact last night with his Super Bowl victory," Fiorini said. "Especially from Proctor High School's standpoint. There's been a lot of negatives lately in the paper, and this is a true success story from a guy from Proctor, who went out there and is Super Bowl champion. A true, classy guy. Everyone is proud of him."

Fiorini already sent Smith a congratulatory text message and said he looks forward to seeing him in April.
