Hamlin family drives to Canada to see daughter compete in Olympics after flight canceled

REMSEN, N.Y. (WKTV) - After their flight to Vancouver was canceled, the parents of Olympic hopeful Erin Hamlin have hit the road.

Ron and Eilleen Hamlin's journey to watch their daughter compete in Vancouver was supposed to begin yesterday when the couple was scheduled to fly out from Hancock International Airport in Syracuse. However, when the Hamlins received word that their United Airlines flight was canceled, the parents drove to Toronto, Canada around 4 a.m. Thursday morning.

The luge competition for women is set to begin on Monday and recent reports predict that Hamlin will take home a bronze in Vancouver. She already has three bronze medals from non-Olympic events.
