Additional charges filed for Little Falls man already charged with arson
LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Additional charges have been filed against a Little Falls man already accused of numerous intentionally set fires in the city.
Little Falls Fire Officials said additional charges have been filed against Daniel Simonds, who was originally charged on December 24, 2009 with numerous counts of arson for his involvement in several fires throughout the city. Simonds was arrested again on February 22 and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, grand larceny, and arson. Officials said these charges are in connection with the buildings and property that were unlawfully entered and suffered damage during the arson fires Simonds is accused of. Simonds was arraigned in the City of Little Falls Court and sent back to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. On February 25, Simonds was arraigned in the Herkimer County Court on an indictment warrant on charges of burglary, grand larceny and criminal mischief. Simonds was processed by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Department for these charges and remains in the Herkimer County Correctional Facility. Police said these charges stem from the fire department's investigation into a burglary at an elderly resident's house on December 21, 2009. |
