Man shows support for local paralympian en route to Vancouver
ILION, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local man is on his way to Vancouver for the 2010 paralympics, and his brother in law is showing everyone his support.
Thomas Lampron and his daughter made a sign in the snow for Jimmy Joseph - a local curler. Joseph is in a wheel chair after losing both his legs. Lampron, who is Joseph's brother-in-law, said that while the paralympian won a bronze medal in Torino, he thinks he can do even better this year in Vancouver. "I really think he is going to do it this year," Lampron said. "The events leading up to, he won the gold in certain events. But, I really think he is going to do it this year." Joseph - a member of the Sitrin STARS - is the only paralympian from the Utica area on Team USA. Two will compete from the Syracuse area. |
