Father and daughter arrested at WalMart
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A father and daughter were arrested together at the WalMart Superstore in Consumer Square Friday afternoon after one attempted to steal merchandise and the other tried to run from police, NHPD said.
New Hartford Officers say that 53-year-old Salim Selimovic of Mulberry Street in Utica was seen stealing fishing supplies. Police say they took the man into custody and charged him with one petit larceny. His 24-year-old daughter, Zejfa Selimovic, began shouting obscenities at store employees and police officers while customers watched. Police say she was told to stop, but refused. They then charged her with disorderly conduct and she ran off. Police say they stopped her quickly after a brief struggle and added an additional charge of resisting arrest. Both father and daughter are scheduled to appear in New Hartford Town Court later in March. |
