Congressman Arcuri speaks with seniors at Preswick Glen

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Residents at Preswick Glen had an opportunity to "Meet with Mike" Monday - Congressman Michael Arcuri, that is.

"Meet with Mike" was a discussion session held by the congressman where area seniors in attendance could pose questions for the Arcuri on a myriad of issues.

Arcuri said he likes speaking with seniors, because they don't pull any punches. He said that while the room was divided on the current healthcare reform bill, there was at least some agreement.

"When I talked about the fact that I think we need to do this thing in a more incremental way and to do it slower and to do pieces at a time, and at some point work our way into a larger bill, there seemed to be real consensus that that was the best way to handle it," he said.

Arcuri said the seniors were also very vocal regarding the economy. They brought up issues about our debt to China, trade, and job creation.
