UTICA - Hundreds of young Christians converged on the Utica auditorium for the 11th “Generation Conference” today.

The conference is an event designed to teach young people about Christian morals and help build confidence in themselves and their religion.

Organizers say this conference is a great way for kids to learn more about the spiritual part of life.

They also said the idea is to empower youths and help promote Christian ideals of love of God and people in general.

Music and entertainment is being played for today's young audience.

Speakers such as actor Stephen Baldwin and other Christian speakers are expected to speak in the event which wraps up Friday.

Organizers say it's not just for churchgoers but for anyone interested in living a more spiritual life.

Baldwin said young Christians should be proud to show their appreciation for God and their religion.

“Have it be something that’s not this “golly gee willakers” watered down version of it,” Baldwin said. “I really think there’s an opportunity for this next generation to be the biggest and greatest movement of revival Americans ever seen and I'm happy to be a part of it."

Baldwin went on to say he's in the midst of a new ministry he's created called “The Breakthrough Ministry” that could be moving near the area by late next year.

Audience members were charged $58 dollars for the day conference but tonight it's free for anyone.

We're told well known Christian speaker Joyce Myers will speak tonight.
