Woman charged after allegedly stabbing puppy in head with steak knife
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica woman is facing charges after police say she used a steak knife to stab a puppy in the head.
According to Utica Deputy Police Chief John Toomey, Rebecca L. Spratt was in the middle of a domestic dispute at her Rutger Street residence around 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday. Toomey said that during the dispute, Spratt damaged some property of her companion and at one point, took a steak knife and stabbed the six-month old bull terrier in the head. The terrier was taken to Burrstone Animal Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Spratt has been charged with criminal mischief for damaging property that was unrelated to the animal as well as torturing and injuring animals. Spratt was arraigned in Utica City Court and sent to Oneida County Jail. |
