UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Get out your shamrocks and make room for corned beef and cabbage dinner - it's St. Patrick's Day Eve in Utica.

On Friday morning, the City of Utica was in the Irish spirit, with the painting of the green line being held downtown on Genesee Street. The annual St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. In Utica, and folks will be lining up right on Genesee Street in Downtown to watch the festivities.

Parade Grand Marshall Frank Kealey said that he's looking forward to celebrating the big day with hundreds of people, whether they are Irish or not.

"It's a day to celebrate your Irish heritage, whether you have any or not," Kealey said. "Everybody is welcome."

St. Patrick's Day parades are also being held this weekend in Albany, Rochester, Syracuse and Buffalo.
