Rain stays away, making for sunny St. Patrick's Day parade

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The St. Patrick's Day parade in Utica Saturday morning was a huge success thanks in great part to the weather.

Area politicians made their way down Genesse Street, as did many service men and women, firefighters and police.

A number of live bands played on top of vehicles in front of a crowd of thousands.

Although parade goers saw low 40 degree temperatures and a constant wind, the rain held off, leaving everyone in attendance with a sunny smile.

Many members of the NEWSChannel 2 staff also walked the parade route and said they had a wonderful time.
