NHPD: Intoxicated driver crashes into car in-front of her

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A woman was arrested for drinking and driving over the weekend after police say she caused an accident on Oneida Street.

According to New Hartford Police, 50-year-old Sherrie McConn of Sauquoit was traveling south on Oneida Street when she collided with the vehicle in-front of her which was yielding traffic attempting to make a left turn onto Sessions Road.

The vehicle that was hit was being driven by 22-year-old Asha Easton of Ontario, Canada.

As New Hartford Police interviewed McConn, it was determined that she may be under the influence of alcohol. McConn performed sobriety tests at the scene and was then arrested for driving while intoxicated.

McConn was sent to the New Hartford Police Department for processing and was issued traffic tickets for following too closely, failed to produce a valid insurance card and driving while intoxicated.

McConn was released and will answer the charges in The Town of New Hartford Court at a later date.
