Rain storm hinders commuters in Northeast

EGG HARBOR CITY, N.J. (AP) - A torrential rainstorm that brought heavy winds to the Northeast is causing some minor headaches for commuters.

In Massachusetts, the state Transportation Department says some highway off-ramps around the state are closed.

In several places, trains and subways are being replaced with buses.

Flooding in New Jersey forced NJ Transit to shorten the routes of trains on the Montclair-Boonton line. Those trains aren't going into Manhattan this morning but are stopping in Hoboken.

The MBTA in Boston is experiencing some delays on commuter rail lines.

At least seven people died in storm-related accidents over the weekend, and hundreds of thousands of customers from Pennsylvania to Connecticut lost electricity.
