Irish Fest gets prepped for its 4th Annual celebration

Dave Dellecese

FRANKFORT - It is all about the luck of the Irish this weekend...as more than 20,000 people are expected to descend upon Frankfort for it's Annual Irish Festival.

Hundreds of empty chairs sat at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds Friday morning but it would take only hours before thousands flood in for the Fourth Annual Irish Festival.

Organizers spent the morning turning the fairgrounds into a scene reminiscent of an old Irish party.

From the music stage…to the Irish brew and, of course, plenty of eats...the last minute details were being nailed down to ensure a fun-filled event for all this weekend.

The three day festival begins Friday at 5 p.m., and will boast everything from national Irish acts to a football tournament.

And if that doesn't sound like your pot of gold how about some dancing?

If you are not Irish don't worry, there is a little something for everyone.

The event takes place at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds rain or shine.
