Water Authority: Hinckley Reservoir levels on the rise
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Mohawk Valley Water Authority says the water level in the Hinckley Reservoir is rising.
Water Authority Director Patrick Becher said that the water levels are up about four feet, which is 1,191 feet above sea level. The water level hit a low last week, due to slow melting snow. The Mohawk Valley Water Board said inflows to the reservoir have increased to five times what they were last week. Water levels didn't get low enough to cause concern about water quality. The Mohawk Valley Water Authority is meeting Monday night to discuss making a plan of action for the future, in the event water levels drop again. |
