Three injured in two-car crash on Route 12

DEERFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two people were sent to the hospital and one treated at the scene following a two-car motor vehicle accident on Route 12 in Deerfield on Wednesday.

According to State Police, Jeremy A. Schor, 20, of Whitesboro, was driving north on Route 12 around 1 p.m. Wednesday in a 2004 Buick, when he slowed for a slow-moving vehicle traveling north in front of him.

Meanwhile, a 2003 Jeep driven by Linda R. Sowers, 55, of Remsen, was also traveling north on Route 12 behind Schor's Jeep. State Police said Sowers failed to see the vehicles traveling at the slow speed, and was unable to slow down in time. As a result, Sowers rear-ended Schor's vehicle.

Sowers was treated at the scene by EMS personnel for leg pain while Schor and a passenger - Kelly L. Crider, 18, of Whitesboro were sent to St. Luke's Hospital in Utica and treated for neck pain.
