"Cutting For Critters"

NEW YORK MILLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Some area folks who needed a haircut, got a great deal and helped a good cause at the same time in New York Mills.

The hair salon called "Blonde Ambition" on Burrstone road held a Cut-a-Thon Saturday to raise money for the Stevens-Swan Humane Society. Owner Mary Kwiecinski offered customers half-price haircuts, and is making a big donation from today's proceeds to the shelter.

The event is called "Cutting-for-Critters" and salon owner Mary Kwiecinski has a personal vested interest in helping animals, "I have a lot of pets, I have cats, dogs, hamsters, fish and frogs, I have a zoo."

This is the 100th anniversary of the Stevens-Swan Humane Society and those in charge there want to thank Blonde Ambitions for holding today's fundraiser.
