Utica takes advantage of Ebay to sell surplus stock

Dave Dellecese

UTICA – The City of Utica is taking advantage of internet auction site E-bay.

Mayor Timothy Julian announced today that the City of Utica has begun to participate in Oneida County’s highly successful use of the website to sell its surplus stock.

“When Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente offered his office’s services to the municipalities of the County, we decided it was worth a shot to try and generate some income from otherwise useless items,” said Mayor Julian. “In this day and age when taxes are ever-rising and the taxpayer is already burdened greatly, this is a wonderful and unique opportunity for us to generate revenues.”

Oneida County Executive Picente has allowed the cities and towns in the county to utilize the county’s E-Bay site to sell their scrap and surplus items. Oneida County’s E-Bay name is: OneidaCounty-surplus.
