Utica man arrested again on counterfeit charges

NEW HARTFORD – A Utica man has been arrested again on counterfeit charges.

 

New Hartford Police Department said they arrested Jeremiah T. Hurd, 36, of Utica, on criminal possession of a forged instrument relative to Hurd possessing and passing counterfeit U.S. Currency.

 

Police said that on Monday, August 6, the Salem, New Hampshire police arrested Hurd on the same charges. According to a press release issued by Salem news channel WMUR Channel 9, Hurd was using fake 20’s and 50’s in the Salem area.

 

The news report stated that Hurd was arrested on Gulliver Ave in Salem and that a search warrant was executed on a home that he was staying at. Police found and seized $1,500 in counterfeit money, a copier, and paper.

Hurd was being held on $10,000 bail and may face further charges.
