ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - CD Food and Beverage will have to wait another week to see if they can expand their sales of alcohol at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino.

CD Food and Beverage, named after the late Chris Destito, was told Wednesday by the State Liquor Authority board they will have to wait until next Thursday, following a special meeting, to see if they are granted a permit. The delay is the end result of public opposition at Wednesday's hearing.

The State Liquor Authority held their hearing live via a webcast Wednesday from New York City. In Albany, a remote camera was set up so those who wished to support or oppose CD Food and Beverage's application could be heard. Roughly four people spoke in favor of the company, and another four opposed it.

One of those who opposed the permit was Oneida County Legislator and State Senate Candidate Michael Hennessy. Hennessy asked that the Authority give more time to the decision so he can have area bar owners be heard before they make their decision.

The liquor authority board then went into an executive session meeting following the opposition's remarks. Five minutes later, the board came out saying that they would delay their vote until next Thursday.

CD Food and Beverage's attorney asked that each bar owner that plans to attend the special meeting bring facts about why the company should be denied the application.

Liquor Authority board members said they will definitely have a decision for CD Food and Beverage at next weeks special hearing.
