Sylvan Beach man accused of setting fire to girlfriend's home

SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Sylvan Beach man has been charged with arson after authorities said he set fire to his girlfriend's home following a fight.

According to State Police, Jeremy L. Johnson, 30, has been charged with third-degree arson and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Authorities said Johnson set his girlfriend's Pine Ave residence on fire after a domestic dispute. However, State Police said the girlfriend was able to put the fire out before extensive damage was done to the residence.

Johnson was arraigned in the Town of Vienna court and sent to the Oneida County Jail on $20,000 bail.
