No more BYOB at Turning Stone

VERONA, NY (WKTV) - Alcohol is now being served throughout the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. This Memorial Day Weekend will likely mark the first big bump in sales due to the active, new, liquor license. But not all guests are happy about the new rules that come with the new liquor license.

Guests can no longer bring outside beverages onto the premises. Coolers are checked on the way in so guests don't bring alcohol in for an overnight stay.

The convenience of having alcohol on tap isn't free either.
Beers run $5.00 and mixed drinks will cost you any where from $6.00 to $9.00.

24 hours into the new revenue stream, and some customers are pleased while others are disappointed.

Robby Natale is a guest at Turning Stone, that didn't know about the new rules until he pulled up to Turning Stone and saw the signs.

"Well, they won't let you bring your cooler up to the rooms with any alcohol in it, that's a disappointment to me and you know its five dollars for a beer, that's a little high," said Natale.

John Brown is staying at Turning Stone for a family wedding, but he's come to Turning Stone before.

"When we first checked in, we noticed the signs that said no coolers," Brown said. "They were getting the refrigerators ready, and normally we bring our own but honestly its more convenient this is better, I like it."

While Turning Stone does plan to make big bucks with the sale of alcohol, soda, water and coffee are still free on the gaming floor.
