Holland Patent teen from Albany Street crash in "serious condition"

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Holland Patent teen who was injured in a May 22 accident on Albany Street is listed in serious condition, St. Elizabeth Medical Center officials said Tuesday morning.

Stephanie Hawkins, 17, was in the front passenger seat of the car driven by Christopher Swider, 17, of Utica, on May 22, when they and three other teens in the vehicle crashed into a tree on Albany Street in Utica.

Swider died Tuesday from injuries he had sustained in the accident.

Hawkins sustained head injuries athe night of the crash. Medical Center officials said her condition was listed as "serious" Tuesday morning.
