Statements given by Dudley Ave murder suspects could be used in trial

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - One of two Utica teens accused in a November 2009 murder were in Oneida County Court on Monday morning.

Trevon Patterson, along with Robert Thompson, both 19, were indicted for the murder of George Garrow, 66, of Utica in his Dudley Avenue home in November.

Oneida County Prosecutors said Patterson talked with Utica Police Investigators back on June 4, where he gave a written and oral statement that are expected to be used during the course of the duo's trial.

"I can't comment on the substance of the statements," said Oneida County Assistant District Attorney Michael Coluzza said. "However, we served notice of those statements to preserve our right to use all or any portion of those statements at a subsequent trial."

A pre-trial hearing for Trevon Patterson is set for June 21.
