Dairy farmers dump milk for protest

WEST WINFIELD, (WKTV) - Some disgruntled dairy farmers spent this Fourth of July making a patriotic protest. Dairy farmers dumped a full days worth of milk to protest low prices and send a message to lawmakers.

West Winfield farmer David Fitch says the dairy industry is souring and farmers are being ripped off.

Fitch says over the last 2 years, milk prices have not changed but cost of production has, and lawmakers aren't taking the plight of the dairy farmer seriously.

Hundreds of dairy farmers all around the country participated in the milk dump this week.
