Several notables to watch during this year's PGA Tournament at Turning Stone

By Dave Dellecese

VERNON - While there was a push to get Tiger Woods to come this year, he won't be making the trip. However, there are some top-notch golfers a tier-up from the B.C. Open last summer, and that's taking nothing away from last year's field.

Some of the big names to watch:

Justing Leonard holds 10 victories, including the 1997 British Open Championship and the 1998 Players Championship.

John Daly won the PGA Championship in 1991, and the British Open in 1995,

Chad Campbell has three wins on tour, including the 2003 Tour Championship.

Stewart Appleby is a member of the International President's Cup Team. He'll face the Americans next week in Montreal.

Lee Janzen is a two-time U.S. Open Champion.

Robert Allenby finished 23rd in the Fed-Ex Cup points race with four Career Tour wins.

Other notables include:

John Rollins, who won the B.C. Open last year.

David Branshaw, an Oswego resident who finished fourth in the 2006 B.C. Open, Presented by the Turning Stone Resort.

Eric Manning is the club professional representing the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, and earned a coveted spot with his win at the Central New York PGA Section Championship.

Joey Sindelar of Horseheads, has won seven times on tour in his career.
