PGA Tournament good for local businesses

VERNON - The Turning Stone Resort Championship is drawing in thousands from out of town, which is good news for local businesses who are helping out with the event.

All the fun may be on the Atunyote golf course, but its good hard work for the employees of Balloons and Blossoms Florist Company as they create gorgeous flower arrangements for golfers and spectators to enjoy.

"We've done really large weddings before but this is one of our largest parties or events that we've ever done for Turning Stone or anyone," said Denise Goodwin, owner of Balloons and Blossoms.

It's been non-stop for Goodwin and her employees. This small business owner had her work cut out for her, making floral arrangements for the Turning Stone Resort Championship.

Though it's been tough, she says its all worth it in the end.

"Publicity and just the exposure," Goodwin said. "It was an honor to do this for the PGA, especially for the first year of this tournament."

Hopefully the impact the PGA Tour has on Central New York will go well beyond the end of the event.
