Day One of Atunyote: Golfers not pleased with attendance

Tools

Laurie Benedict

Day 1 at Atunyote is in the books, and it was a near record setting day for the golfers, but not even close as far as attendance goes.

Attendance on the first day was 3,600, that is right on par with what golf officials expected to get here. As for the golfers them selves, they say they would have liked to have seen more people around, and they blame the PGA.

Turning Stone officials say for a first round Thursday they are happy with 3,600, that's because they, along with some golfers, know attendance will pick up throughout the week.
