Woman found stabbed on front lawn in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica woman is in stable condition after police say she was stabbed early Sunday by her ex-boyfriend.

According to Utica Police, Nicholas Tuttle, 21, of Cassville stabbed the woman several times just after midnight on Sunday at a home on Edgewood Drive in Utica.

She was found on the front lawn when police arrived, with her shirt soaked in blood. The woman, whose name is not being released, remains in the hospital as of this writing after undergoing surgery.

New Hartford Police was the agency that actually arrested Tuttle around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning when they responded to an accident near the Washington Mills exit of Route 8.

Tuttle is being held on $50,000 bail and investigators say the case is still under investigation and more charges may be filed on a later date.
