NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Christmas story to remember, forever.
The Fryman family, a local family, live a life like most, except for one thing. David Fryman fights overseas for his day job. He serves in the tenth Combat Aviation Task Force Falcom from Fort Drum. He was deployed to Baram, Afghanistan and had not seen his family in months, until now.
Fryman received the opportunity to come home early. Despite wintry weather conditions, he made it home Sunday and surprised his daughter, who was non-expectant.
Sabrina Fryman, Davids wife, organized the entire scheme. Their daughter Ella ate lunch with her grandparents at Carmella's Café in New Hartford, unknowing that her father was about to give her the surprise of a lifetime.
When the Fryman's arrived at the restaurant, not only was Ella surprised, but so was David. Sabrina planned a double surprise and had many of David's friends and family members waiting outside of the restaurant, welcoming the soldier home.
The evening was followed with laughter and hugs for a family who received the best Christmas present they could ask for, being healthy and all together again.
Fryman said he isn't sure the next time he will be deployed.
