UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Nearly 70 percent, or roughly 9,000 seniors facing hunger in Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties are eligible for food assistance programs, but not enrolled, according to a new AARP report.

AARP NY hosted a round table discussion Monday morning at the Parkway Senior Center in Utica.

30 local aging and anti-hunger organizations participated, bringing their ideas to the table.

Their end goal, is to connect seniors in the three counties with food programs.

It's especially important to get the correct information with the recent cuts to SNAP benefits that took hold November 1st.
