Adjustment may make living with Arterial construction a little easier

By WKTV News

(WKTV) - Traveling on the Arterial while construction is going on may not always be easy,  one change may make for smoother sailing.

The Department of Transportation initially had planned to restrict traffic to one lane for work on the Arterial project.

However, now there will be two lanes of traffic open going both north and southbound while work is taking place on the project.

"You're look at over 40,000 cars a day that go through there," said James Piccola, of the New York State Department of Transportation. "By having us able to have traffic in both's definitely going to make it easier for the traveling public."

The project will continue throughout the winter, as long as contractors feel they can do the work safely. The project is scheduled to be finished in 2016.
