Albany police officer faces DWI charges after crash
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A 10-year veteran Albany police officer faces driving while intoxicated charges after a crash that damaged a row of parked cars.
A police spokesman says Officer Max Etienne was suspended without pay after being arrested early Sunday morning. Etienne is accused of crashing an SUV into a row of parked cars on a city street around 5 a.m. Sunday.
Etienne was charged with driving while intoxicated, unsafe lane movement and refusal to submit to a breath test. He's scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Albany Police Court.
The Albany Times Union reports that Etienne was previously ticketed for failing to keep right and leaving the scene of an accident after he crashed into three vehicles while he was off-duty in December 2008.
