Almost 1,500 residents still without power

OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Nearly 1,500 residents are without power in Otsego County as of Saturday afternoon, due to severe thunderstorms that rolled through the region over the past two days.

According to NYSEG, New York State Eclectic and Gas, 1,418 homes do not have electricity in Otsego County.

In other counties around the viewing area, 441 customers are in the dark in Madison County and a handful of outages are being reported in Herkimer County, mostly in the town of Manheim.

Severe weather that include torrential rain and very strong winds hit the region twice, both on Thursday and then on Friday night. Many customers were without power all day Friday from the Thursday storm, with the situation made worse by the new storms Friday night.
